Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Yes! You can switch between plans at any time from your account settings. When upgrading, you get immediate access to new features. When downgrading, your current features remain active until the end of your billing period.
Is there a free tier?
Yes! The Trailhead plan is completely free forever with 5 scored locations and 1 plan. It's perfect for trying ShutterTime before committing to a paid plan.
What's the difference between Alpine and Summit?
Alpine is designed for enthusiasts who need generous limits (50 locations, 10 plans, 5 trips, 20 favourites). Summit is for professionals who need unlimited everything plus the ability to host photography workshops.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. There are no lock-in contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time, and you'll retain access until the end of your billing period. On iOS, manage your subscription through Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
How do I subscribe on the iOS app?
Subscriptions on iPhone and iPad are handled through Apple's App Store. You can subscribe directly in the app, and your subscription syncs automatically across all your devices. Manage, upgrade, or cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings.
What payment methods do you accept?
On the web, we accept all major credit cards via Stripe. On iOS, payments are handled through your Apple ID. Your subscription works across both platforms — subscribe on either and it applies everywhere.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Your locations, plans, and trips remain saved. However, scoring will pause for locations beyond your plan's limit, and you'll need to stay within your new plan's limits to add more.
